I just got the Clock Tower 2 official Strategy Guide (made and endorsed by HUMAN), and it says in the opening area that there's a special mode that in the guide is called "BuyoBuyo", which is only accessible once you get all the endings (and the hints too, I think).
It's supposed to prompt you when you make a new game about setting normal mode (or something like that...haven't translated the whole paragraph yet)... "On" or "Off". If you turn it "off", the screenshot showed a chibi-looking Jennifer model in the bathroom, while if it was "on", Jennifer looked like normal.
Has anyone actually unlocked this mode? Since I've been working on DOA4, Oblivion, and messing around in CT: TFF, I haven't spent much time on the Japanese version of this game, and this mode definitely wasn't in the English version.

True, it was not in the English version. I know enigmapoeia has unlocked it herself.

I have to try that.

Okay--I see how you can use it...you have to get all 10 endings in the Japanese CT2 and you can access it by merely pressing pause and navigating to the "BuyoBuyo: On/Off" in the menu.
I have to get all the endings in the Japanese one, which I don't think will be too difficult, granted that I get off the Xbox 360 and start playing my CT collection again...^^()

There is a similar thread like this one on NeoSeeker forums. I thought developers have removed BuyoBuyo mode before releasing the game. By the way, I think there was a code for somekind of secret or extra mode in the demo version of Clock Tower.

Hmm...I'm not totally sure about that, but I don't think that the official strategy guide (released after the game's initial release) would put something in that isn't in the final cut. I know it's not in the English version, but I'm pretty sure it's just an unlockable mode...
But an extra mode? The Demo version of CT is "The Door to the Fear", right?

I am talking about the Clock Tower 1 demo CD (it comes with Felony 11-79 demo) for Playstation 1 (I don't have it anymore). When I was looking for interesting things in game files with Notepad few years ago.
I have found out some interesting words like extra mode, silencer (a gun in CT?) and some other words which I can not remember right now (also there was the name of Dan) in the game files.

I thought "Door to the Fear" WAS the CT Demo...or at least the Japanese one...>.<
But really now...do you think that demo is where the "Play as Scissorman" rumor originated?

I think "Play as Scissorman" mode is just a fake rumor (probably a joke just like secret levels in Half-Life). Maybe the rumor comes from demo version of game, I could be wrong though.

I wish you could play as Scissorman though...
But do you know exactly what these "Extra Modes" were supposed to do? The "Silencer" mode has me intrigued, though perhaps it's just a version of the game with no Scissorman music, but only Scissor shears and sound effects to keep you going...but if that were the case, then what would EX mode be...Hmmm...
This has me intrigued.

It would be cool if they had an extra mode where you COULD play as Scissorman but would have to beat the game and get every ending first.

I think silencer was an item (not a mode) in earlier versions of the game. Then developers probably have decided to remove it. Does anyone still have the demo version of Clock Tower?

*shrug* I can get the Japanese version of the demo on Rinkya, and then take a look, but I'm not sure where I could get the English version...

The BuyoBuyo mode exists. As far as I know of, enigma is the person to ask. She has unlocked this more for herself and seen what in can do. I recall her mentioning the characters changing size and stuff.
