What do you think?

While the game play setup of "run and hide" makes Clock Tower unique to many horror themed console games, it's generally the only similarity between them. The basic storyline element are vastly different between the two games. One delves to the fictional demonic (or supernatural), the other deals with alchemy. Two completely different worlds because one is based off of one's original creation, and the other isn't though often obscured.

What should have happened is that they should have just made a CT4 as well. I don't see why they didn't. Well, it doesn't really matter now. I'm happy with HG and they'll probably make a new CT soon.
I think the question is why haven't they made it yet?

One of you neglected to vote in the poll, and birdman, I wasn't even aware you liked Clock Tower. Makes me wonder why you don't post more. I hated Haunting Ground and would have been very irritated if it had been Clock Tower 4.

I only like CT3. Why I don't post here more? I forgot the place existed until I was reminded in the thread at your other forum.
HG has to be one of the best games I've played, so I don't think it would have mattered to me what they called it.
What I liked about CT3 though was that there wasn't really any way to defeat a stalker. And what I liked best about HG was that you could only use Hewie to fight. So in the end it's better that they're separate games.

no, you can tell hewie to fight with you! You can kick the stalker while hewie bites and if you kick and bite enough the stalker will faint and you can take an item from them!
HG was good on it's own and if it was a in the CT series (althought there wasn't any relation to the CT series, it's close and is much better than CT3; she doesn't turn into a 'magical girl' does she?)

I know you can kick them, but it's near useless and the core of the gameplay is having Hewie do all the work.
I love CT3 but found that 'magical girl' thing a little strange. I hope that isn't in the next game.

Guys, stay on-topic. If you must, create new threads in the Clock Tower 3 and this section.

Hell no, due to the fact it's a CAPCOM game (although a quite good one) which storyline differs completely from the original titles. Nonetheless HG is more alike to the original than actually Clock Tower 3 is with its totally surreal and unidentifiable story.

I disagree. CT3 did have strong connections with the storyline of the original games.

Then just help me. I cannot see them.

Campbell,
The links/ connections of CT3 with the original series has already been discussed in a few threads; simply look through the forum; it's not hard to find it.

They can be found in the general section for Clock Tower 3. Now, let's get back on-topic.

The story really doesn't matter to me. I play games to play them. A good story doesn't hurt, but gameplay takes over. CT3 has it, HG has it, so it can be a whole new unrelated story and I wouldn't care as long as the gameplay is good.
This topic is a question no one really can answer because different people want different things. I can't tell at all if I wanted it to remain CT4 because CT4 doesn't exist. It could have turned out to be one of the worst games ever, or the best.
I'll say no because HG is one of my best games. You may have heard that DMC was originally meant to be RE4. I'm glad it didn't because DMC is one of the best things to ever exist and at the time I thought I'd rather not have another RE game with the same boring gameplay. Then RE4 did come out and did away with previous RE stuff and was just awesome.
