Well, what version of the game do you have, American? It is a different thing in some versions. Either way, get the A ending with everyone surviving in the last scenario.(There are three people who do not count and will always die, no matter who you play as.) Here is how to save everyone:
Helen's scenario:
Beth/In the small room with the crumbling floor-Talk to her and she will plan to follow. Talk to her again and convince her to stay put.
Tim/wine room, behind shelf-I've never known him to die in her scenario, but talk to him by examing the shelf to confirm he is alive
Gotts and Jennifer-Will automatically survive in the "A" ending
Harris/kitchen-Rather random. I reccomend just going to the kitchen as soon as you start and trying to enter the storage room. He should come out and give you a key, but if he does not, try examing the pot on the stove thing to see if he is dead or if the event has not been triggered.
Kay/Edward/Burton-Die in the "A" ending
Nolan/Room with stone coffin-He is in the coffin, so open it to confirm he is alive. Never found him dead.
Jennifer's Scenario:
Helen/Nolan-Automatically survive in "A" ending
Kay/Edward/Harris-Die in "A" ending
Tim/Fireplace room at later point in game-Another random one I think. Sometimes he is dead, but others he is alive.
Beth/Wine room-Also seems to be random. She will either be alive behind the shelf or dead in the wine barrel.
Burton/Fountain area-Talk to him before showing the paper with foreign writing to Helen.
Gotts/Torture room-Also seems random. He'll either be alive or dead, but I have only encountered him dead there once.
Let me know if anyone knows how to trigger the death/living of characters not mentioned.

What is the PAL version?O.o What does PAL mean? PAL goes for europe game versions, NTSC U/C is the one you get in America (and Canada), NTSC J goes for the japanese versions... and so on. The main difference between a NTSC and a PAL game is that the PAL games run at 50Hz, and the american one at 60Hz. This means that if you are playing an american game, the screen refreshes 60 times per second, and in a european game it refreshes 50 times per second (You may notice that european games run a bit slower, but in most games you find no difference). This has nothing to do with CT but explains the situation... By the way, in my NTSC U/C (american) version, I unlocked it after beating the two 'A' endings...

You mean the section?, You get 5 songs to listen to, and a bunch of art pictures featuring every character appearing in the game, and also every room.

I got it just after beating the game with an "A" ending and having everyone survive.
Note to Obscurenightmares: In the Japanese version of the game, if I don't get the Door spell before going to the back room, Gotts seems to be killed no matter what I do. But even so, if you don't get there within like...two minutes of the scenario starting, he's dead anyway. It's probably just my bad luck (He's died on me 3 times when changing my usual play pattern, to see if I can beat the game quicker, etc), though.

I would be cool if they had a mini game in the Secrets menu that you can unlock.

Hmmm...maybe it really is my bad luck, because I'm pretty sure that the randomness is the same in both versions...AGH!!!
WHY DOES HE ALWAYS DIE ON ME IF I DON'T DO SOMETHING A SPECIFIC WAY?!?!?!?!
*cries*
