The hand in the last level

I know you can just ignore this enemy (by not opening the drawer), but can you actually kill it?
Whenever I try I panick it off once then Helen just stands there (I'm tapping the panic button the whole time) and then it lunges and instantly kills me.
I know the hand doesn't matter but I'm just curious if it's possible to not die from it (since you can't seem to move during panic mode)

Actually, to get the "A" ending, I'm pretty sure you have to face this enemy. It should lunge at you the minute you release it. Use the panic button to throw it off onto the desk, then there is an item on the desk-it's hard to see-that you can click to kill it.

Yeah, I believe it needs to die for Helen's A ending, because there's somethihng else important in the drawer.
