I hope that I post this tread in the right place.
After defeating Sledgehammer, I found that there was a blue crest on the door to the bathroom, and when I threw holy water on it, a spirit appeared. Now I wonder, where can I find its sentimental item? I've been looking for it for a while, but I still can't find it.

Long time no see.^^
The sentimental item, for reasons beyond my understanding, is Lavender Water, if I remember correctly. That whole thing makes little sense. Who killed that lodger? How? Why? Where are the others? Who's going to explain that death and the destruction of the house and the other lodgers' belongings?@_@

My theory is that the Dark Man killed the lodgers (the other corpses might be in the locked rooms that you can't enter). The reason is probably that if the lodgers have been wandering around in the house, they might have interfered with his plans by aiding Alyssa in her quest. But that is just what I think.

But how? Even with his powers, would it really have been so easy to just kill all those people. And why not use those powers to subdue Alyssa from the very beginning?

Now that you're mention it, it sure sounds strange. That would be if he collected all the lodgers in the same room and used that instant kill attack (from the last battle) on them (or maybe sended them into another dimension/timeperiod). And the poor victim in the bathtub tried to hide but was found and killed. (umm... maybe I'm getting a bit deep about this.) But then the question remains why he didn't captured Alyssa before she got that holy water bootle. I mean, if I was a bad guy, I would most likely do that before the victim got strong enough to defend her/himself.

I suspect that it's as Alyssa thought-most of the lodgers were out. They most likely all have jobs and such. The one in the bathtub could have been one who was off and was taking a bath when he was found and killed. However, since the lodgers seem to have their own area, and there's no reason for the Dark Gentleman to be wandering into the bathrooms-he would know the house layout well,-I think it must be something else. That bathroom, given where it is located, is likely just for Alyssa and her mother to use. I stand by my belief that most of the lodgers were indeed out, but that one was probably just home and bumped into the Dark Gentleman and hid in the bathroom, where he was killed.
