I was reading about Silent Hill origins and came across this...
'--reviously reported Barricade System. This was going to be implemented but was never shown publicly. The player would run away from a monster and into a room and jam the door shut with the nearest object. While this idea does sound cool and probably would add to the tension it doesn’t seem a very Silent Hill type thing to have and William Oertel (Silent Hill: Origins Producer) has stated that it would be much too time consuming and would account for further delays--'
Interesting... the run and hide... well, not exactly (it's more like run and block really, but similar)

'it doesn’t seem a very Silent Hill type thing to have' Yep. Silent Hill doesn't even have the enemy that chases after you room from room, so this idea doesn't sound very good. Plus, Silent Hill's tailor-made so that you obliterate your enemies with guns, not run away. If they do pull this off, it'll probably feel a lot more like RE3's Nemesis than CT's antagonists. But yeah, RE3 did get the "run away like a scared person" idea from CT, or at least were inspired by it.

I don't think it sounds like they are copying, though.

We should all be happy to know that clock tower was the pioneer in such an idea and c'mon not everyone's brave! In fact running away is actually the logical/ smartest thing to do!
