What is it that draws one to horror?

It`s like a drug that you can`t quit and I personally have no idea why I love it so....why do we enjoy watching people get torn to shreds or haunting our mind with all the horror games, movies, and stories?It`s wierd to think about but we always come back for more...

I guess it depends on a person;)and on some lack of 'excitement' in real life.I dont mean killing of course:)))But something...intriguing and creepy.
