On the GameFAQs boards, FF is often mentioned as a excellent candidate for being ported to the DS. I agree, but how about a new multiplayer mode as an extra, like was done in Resident Evil: Deadly Silence?
Each player could control either Jennifer, Ann, Lotte, or Laura in a race to bring down the Barrows family. Rejigger multiplayer to feature:
-Free-roaming Bobby - perhaps, sometimes, when he's "evaded" by one player, that doesn't mean that he's just magically gone until "found" again. That perhaps just means that he'll roam wherever he was ditched until he finds another potential victim. One of the party members might have to keep him busy while the others accomplish tasks.
-Chara differences - let's see...
Lotte: a bit stronger and faster than the other girls, perhaps? Can run without getting tired as quickly, can beat down Bobby more easily...
Laura: since Laura's has "bad feelings" that usually turn out to be correct, perhaps she could have an extra intuition for danger - not to go into this room at this time, an idea of where Bobby is, etc.
I'm trying to think of how to differentiate Jen and Ann.
-The ability to see the other characters while roaming around. Basic, yes, but DS's multiplayer lacks this, apparently. There should also be some way to communicate if two players are in the same room.
-Mary with her shotgun should show up if certain tasks aren't accomplished within a time limit, too.
Obviously, I haven't worked everything out, but it could be a neat little side feature. Anyone else have any ideas?

Sounds like it would be really cool, especially with the magic pen that the DS has.

It's a cool thing, but honestly, I can't figure out the reason why anyone would want to play a Survival-Horror game on the go. I mean, if you're sitting down on the bus, nothing would scare you except the H ending in First Fear. But the idea of a multiplayer mode is cool, if only they'd make the mansion bigger and the game last a hell of a lot longer than 15 minutes (the time it takes for me to finish CT FF on ZSNES).

Sounds promising, but it would require the original development staff...something that may not be possible. It's also that, Clock Tower's fear partially comes from the fact that you are absolutelty alone. Having a friend may be fun, but it may weaken the atmosphere. What I would prefer to see is this:
Clock Tower: First Fear: Rekindled Fears
A range of modes
Jennifer Scenario: The good ol' CT Lotte Scenario: Different and new areas of the mansion, Scissorman pretty much the same Jennifer Arange Mode: New incarnation of the mansion, with a different layout and more in the way of new shocks and Scissorman spawning areas. Survivor Mode: Ann and Laura selectable, Scissorman harder to avoid, countermeasures to temporarily stop him (i.e. throwing a rock at him) effective. Death of one character results in the other taking over until their respective death. Simon Scenario: We need to know why and how Simon Barrows ended up in that cage, so we shall have a little mode
And the unlockable... Doctor Mode: Another back story, which ends in its character in the sealed room, I'd tell more but then I'd spoil a key part of FF
