From: www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/world/news/e3i694a104c6bc6b415462442acb3dc7295 COLOGNE, Germany -- Marco Weber's Senator Entertainment has taken over production of the much-delayed horror picture "Clock Tower."
Martin Weisz ("The Hills Have Eyes 2") will direct the chiller, based on the best-selling Japanese video game franchise.
Originally developed by genre film financier the Mayhem Project and Japanese video game studio Capcom, the "Clock Tower" adaptation has gone through several versions with numerous writers and directing talent attached.
Eric Poppen wrote the script to Senator's version, which closely tracks the story line of the video game "Clock Tower 2." The heroine Alyssa Hale, confined to a psychiatric ward, joins forces with her psychiatrist to try and break the curse that has plagued her family for generations. Shooting is set to start in July.
The Weinstein Co. will handle worldwide sales through its agreement with Mayhem.Looks like the plot is going to be based off of Clock Tower II: The Struggle Within. This could go either way. While the game was considered the worst in the series, it had it's own unique charm. If they keep in Bates, Stephanie, and Maxwell, they could really make a good movie.
